Cytology

Cytology

Modern achievements of medicine and biology sciences have significantly increased the role of cytology as a science studying diseases at the cellular level. A few decades ago, the capabilities of this field were limited to the description of tumor cells. The development of molecular biology and immunomorphological studies has led to the determination of the risk of developing malignant tumors and the implementation of preventive measures.

Based on scientific studies, it can be said, that malignant tumors are curable. This became possible by using complex application of modern study methods. Today it is already possible to integrate the use of cytological examination with studies of molecular biology and immunomorphological studies. Our laboratory keeps abreast of scientific innovations, actively collaborating with colleagues in related fields both in Georgia and abroad. Together with our foreign and Georgian partners, complex and interesting cases are discussed.
