CT Department of the Institute of Clinical Oncology is equipped with the latest generation computed tomography -  Aquilion Prime SP.

This tomography is a patient's safety oriented high-level technology.  The integrated artificial intelligence application allows us to obtain sharp, accurate, and high-quality data at a low dose, in the shortest possible time.

What is computed tomography?

Computed Tomography (CT) is a diagnostic method, the principle of which is the transformation of X-rays passing through the patient's body into electrical impulses after they are detected by a sensitive detector.

By means of the beams emitted in many different directions, computed tomography provides a three-dimensional image, which allows us to determine the shape, size, and topographically precise localization of organs and pathological formations, and their interrelation to neighboring tissues. For the accuracy of the diagnosis, an intravenous injection of iodine-containing contrast agent (contrast) is often required, the introduction of which leads to increased absorption of X-rays in both the vascular system and the parenchyma of the organs.

With Aqualion prime sp, it is possible to detect and stage tumors, and determine the effectiveness of treatment.
