Surgical mammology

Institute of Clinical Oncology performs breast cancer surgical treatment for both benign and malignant diseases.

Breast benign lumps involve: 

• Mastopathy (diffusive, diffusive-cystic and nodular form);
• Cyst (thin and thick walled cysts – solitary cyst);

• Fibroadenoma (juvenile and phylloid - leaf-shaped);
• Nodular fibroadenoma;
• Intraductal papilloma.

Surgical interventions performed in case of benign diseases:

• Enaculation (excision of a lump);
• Segment resection;
• Wedge resection;

Methods of surgical intervention in case of malignant diseases:

• Radical segment resection;
• Quadrantectomy with lymph node dissection (sentinel – level 1 lymph nodes) ;
• Radical mastectomy;
• Skin-sparing radical mastectomy, followed by silicone plastic surgery;
• Restoration reconstructive surgeries (mastopexy and reduction plastic surgery).
